Shocking service

My adsl line has been out of order since the 1st of January and no-one is doing anything about it. I am still expected to pay Telkom for the service, which is non-existent and they won't refund me until the line is fixed - what a joke! I think they are a disgrace!

Hi

We so sorry for this. Unfortunately there is an underground cable issue and technicians are waiting for spares. For now please make use of telkoms integrated sim card.

Visit any Telkom shop with your id book and proof of residence and ask for a Telkom Internet Integrated Sim Card. With this sim card you will be able to connect to Telkoms 3G/LTE network and use your normal TI monthly allocated data till your service is restored.

Regards

Tumelo

Hello,

Where do I insert the sim card? Do I need a ****le? If so, I don't have one. Can I use it in my cellphone? My adsl contract is uncapped. Am I going to be restricted to a certain amount each month?

Hi angie-bellingan

Yes you can use it on your phone but you need to change your APN to telkominternet.

Rather take your phone with you to any Telkom shop and ask them to do the settings on your behalf. You can also use your phone as a hotspot to connect other wireless devices in your house.

Hello,

Has there been any progress in fixing the underground cables? I find it totally unbelievable that the technicians have been unable to fix the problem in the last 3 months!

I went to a Telkom shop last week to get a sim card (which does not work in my ****le - apparently it only works in Telkom ****les), and was told there is only about2GB of data on it. This is rather useless, as my contract has unlimited data.

When is someone going to find a solution and let me know what is happening? In the 3 months that my line has not been working, not once has anyone from Telkom called me, despite all their promises!

Absolutely atrocious service!

Hi angie-bellingan

Sorry once again for the delay.

Unfortunately one of your neighbors is refusing telkom technicians access to the premises to work on telkom equipment (pillar Joint).

The matter has now been referred to legal, Access to premises / property in terms of Section 22 of the Electronic Communications Act No.36 of 2005. Unfortunately this delay in restoring the service is beyond our control for now.

Letter has already been delivered to the person and we should be able to progress soon with this matter.

Regards

Tumelo.

Hi Tumelo,

If you tell me which neighbour it is (address), I may be able to contact them to speed up the process. I still find it ridiculous that this has taken so long. What have the technicians being doing for the last 3 months? Whenever I phone the call centre, all they can tell me is 'a technician is on site'. Clearly they are not doing anything!
