Shock and Dismay
I have been a loyal Telkom customer for many many years. In August 2017 I migrated from Telkom's ADSL to Fibre I filled out the cancellation form asking to cancel my ADSL faster package only, to ********** and nothing was done, after several calls to their shocking call centre I sent another email, nothing was done again and I was billed as normal. After further calls my line and ADSL were cancelled and i was further billed right up until January 2018. I have not used my phone for months but have been billed in full! I have been severely inconvenienced in the following ways; I have two minor children who are at my home without a landline in the case of emergency's. I have elderly family who cannot call me on my landline and who need me in the case of an emergency. I have family overseas who cannot reach me on my landline anymore. I am in a medical distribution company and need to deal with foreign principles late at night or very early in the morning due to time zones. I cannot receive calls from my village security when visitors arrive. The cherry on top is that I have since found out the telephone number I have had for many years has been given away to somebody else! I have never experienced such poor service and the lack of response when trying to deal with the call centre. I have mailed managers, supervisors, ********** and nobody has ever responded! Never in my entire 51 years of living have I ever felt so powerless to achieve anything when dealing with this massive conglomerate who have surrounded themselves with iron walls to avoid answering to the very people who keep them in business. The way they treat their customers is disgraceful and shameful.
By taking away my landline after paying in full for years and years is in breach of contract and I will be filing a lawsuit against Telkom for damages.
Yours in shock and dismay
Ralph Shulman
