Seven to twenty one working days, yeah right!

As a previous Telkom customer, I expected this to happen unofrtunately. I app**** for a new line on December 6th 2016, using the online applicaiton process (advice: DON'T). I received nothing from Telkom for nearly a week, apart from an invoice (for my previous account) which indicated Telkom actually owes me a little money from when I cancelled a while back.

After nearly a week of no communication or confirmation, I decided to head in to a Telkom Shop (after trying the call centre - using my cellphone - and holding on for more than 30 minutes without any answer). The helpful guy in the shop told me there was no application logged on the system at all and that I had to redo the application, which I proceeded to do with him right then and there.

After again receiving NO communication from Telkom whatsoever until today (which is now 21 working days from the start of the SECOND application), I am at wits end. I have been contacting Telkom nearly daily (I find the online chat is nearly better than the call centre in terms of answering, but not much better either) to find out if there is any progress, only to be told the standard 7 - 21 working days response and that they'll make a note on the system. Wonderful. Now we have reached 21 workings days, I tried again. Guess what!?! They'll make a note on the system.

As a prospective new client this is actually not acceptable, this process has irritated me before I even have a line installed! I would not recommend this company to anyone at all. I have previously had really negative experiences with Telkom and I was hoping this would be different. I have been rather disappointed and it seems this company is still incredibly useless and don't care about customers (new or existing). If you can avoid using this company, by all means pursue alternatives and save your sanity.
