Service transfer to new home 4 weeks late and still no feedback

On 7 July 2017, I received an SMS from Telkom confirming and thanking me for moving my fibre/voice service to a new home address where Telkom confirmed fibre is available. On the agreed date of 25 August, the technicians arrived to connect us only to discover that the fibre network was too far from the property, thus necessitating additional cabling to be installed. On 28 August, I contacted Telkom (10213) to be told this would take 18 working days and that I would be contacted shortly with a firm installation date. Needless to say, I have heard nothing despite several further calls to Telkom were they promised to escalate the issue. Today (19 September), I contacted a friend who works at Telkom who was able to confirm that the problem (current fibre too far away) has been logged but that nobody has yet initiated the cabling work that is required. In other words, Telkom knows of the issue but nobody is doing anything about it and here we sit not knowing if or when we will ever get the service that was promised. The availability of fibre was a key criterion in our decision to move our home/office to this particular suburb. My wife and I both work from home and are dependent on fast access to the Internet. My business also pays for a SmartAccess (086) number which currently diverts to nowhere as we haven't even got a voice line now.
