After being loyal telkom mobile clients for around 6yrs not skipping 1 payment, our phones were suspended 2 days ago. Phoning 3 different consultants you get 3 different versions with no results. Waiting for almost an hour we managed to get to speak to someone at the store in Knysna and immediately saw where the issue was. For some reason a payment was not allocated and was seen as unpaid or in arrears. Eventually our phones were switched on yesterday and I also decided I would like another contract with a Samsung S8. As the funds had not been allocated yet, the store advised/suggested I make the payment direct to their Absa account which was done. Now this was supposed to reflect immediately as it was a direct payment into their account only to be told that there would be a 48hr delay...I mean really. This means that I now cannot get my new phone (we already have 2) until this have been cleared. Why should I have to be inconvenienced due to their error in the 1st place, if this is the type of service we're going to get after being long standing clients...I will rather move to another service provider.

Best regards,
Well this is just upsetting and probably typical too. Our cellphone application was denied (take note - 6yrs clients without a month skipped) as April payment did not reflect on their system. I made a cash payment at ABSA to try speed that up only for it to be declined. The store manageres tried the application again with a deposit and was rejected again with the reason being that 2 debit orders failed (we have been doing EFT since day 1 and adjustments have not been made to alleviate that issue) and apparently an outstanding amount...I mean really?? When we phoned the call centre they verified that there was NO outstanding amount. If this is the way that telkom treats long standing loyal clients then I guess there will be no other alternative but to move to another service provider, maybe one that really takes care of it's clients and maybe replies to these type of concerns.
I think this type of treatment is absolutely disgusting to say the least
