Selling unavailable products

I relocated my voice line & started a new adsl contract with Telkom over a month ago. Telephonically they sold me a 10mbps adsl package. Since my purchase, I have had a maximum of 1.4mbps speed. I phoned twice to query this. For 2 days in total my speed had gone up to 5 mbps (all the other days it went back to 1.4mbps). Technicians were here & confirmed that my premises was too far away from the exchange & that the max speed I can receive is 5 (yet it it keeps being 1.4 unless I phone every day!). I needed to downgrade, since I was sold a speed by Telkom which wasnt possible. I phoned countless times with no luck of any service. I visited the Telkom Woodlands branch. The sales lady ended up assisting by phoning Telkom sales anyway (who couldnt help me when I phoned!). I was told that the penalty charges for the downgrade would be waived, but I would still be charged for a 10mbps line for the month of June. I find this completely unacceptable, since I havent even had a 2mbps speed the entire month. When I phoned to follow up on the downgrade, I was told that there was no downgrade reflecting on the system (after spending an hour at a Telkom branch for this!). I needed to redo the entire process telephonically again. Now I downgraded to 4mbps (since I was told that my speed can reach 5), but if I constantly receive 1.4mbps, I should be paying for no more than a 2mbps line!

This is completely unacceptable to sell a product that doesnt exist. Not only taking my money & giving nothing in return, but also costing me A LOT of money for countless phone calls, being put on hold & driving to Telkom branches to fix a mistake which WASNT mine, but the incompetence of Telkom staff. It's ********.
