Samsung J5 bought in December 2016

Writing this, I'm actually feeling numb because I do not know what to do anymore. When I went to initiate a new contract with Telkom in December, I was skeptical because I previously received bad service that not even their complaints department could resolve it.

I bought a Samsung J5 on 07 December 2016. I had it for literally 2 weeks and it broke. The screen started acting up (I assume a software issue). I returned it on the 21st of December and through that I was taken up and down from one place to another before the phone could be taken in for repairs. The consultant who assisted me on the day went with me down stairs at Samsung store to get it checked out. They could not assist us there, eventually the phone was taken in for repairs. On the acknowlegement slip they wrote that the phone was in good condition.

I was however suprised to receive an sms from telkom on the 16th of January to state that my phone was out of warranty and that I needed to pay a sum of R1458.99 to get my phone repaired (Why? I had this phone for two weeks). And that a consultant will be in contact with me shortly. No consultant contacted me (bad service).

Iwent to the branch on the 18th and was told what the sms already stated. But my concern was why was the phone out of warranty when it was only two weeks old. I did not get an answer, however the guy who assisted me said that they have sent a message to their head office to find out what the reason was and that they will get back to me with feedback. They never called back (another bad service scenario there).

I called the branch two consecutive days thereafter; on the 23rd and on the 24th, and no one could assist me over the phone. I went back to the branch on the 25th where I spoke to the manager who told me that the guy who assisted me previously sent a message to "vision" and that "vision" was offline. Therefore she will send an email to head office and she will get back to me by latest Friday, 27th. I called the branch on Friday; the manager was off and there was still no feedback for me.

I am actually irritated, in that I bought a phone and I do not have it!! WHY??? Firstly when I took the offer, it came to my attention through tv add and a colleague of mine who went to get the same, that the offer gave a free power bank and USB memory card. Should I have not seen those I wouldn't have known that I needed to get those as well, because this was not shared with me (Bad service). To only receive them last week Wednesday because there was "no stock". SIIIGHHHHH...

Now it is 5pm on Monday, 30th and I still don't know what is happening with my two week old phone. I hope I will get joy this time around.

At this stage I feel that I should have my instincts and stayed away from telkom. I have never received such bad service from any company. And to think that I'm stuck with them for 24 months makes me sick.

I work at a service industry and I do not treat my clients like that; therefore I also expect good service from other merchants.

Please telkom, I beg you to intervene and properly train your people on customer service....
