Sales consultant with a bad attitude has made me take my business to a different provider
My partner and I have been trying to sign up for the LTE telkom special . This should be a relatively easy task you would think - however it has been a mission from the start . Firstly we visited the branch at Brooklyn , the sales consultant was not able to advise if our area had coverage, he told us to go onto the website and we could check there , we did this (which took a few minutes ) . We then went to Woodlands branch to sign up for the deal. When we arrived we were asked what we wanted , we explained and the consultant told us to wait in the line . When we got to the front (after 30min ) we were asked for bank statements , proof of residents and a payslip . None of which we had as we weren't told we needed them . We returned to the store today with the documents needed . The sales consultant (Koketso Moeng) was lying on the counter playing on her phone while we stood at the counter . When we advised we wanted to get the deal she asked if we had all the documents, we told her we did as they had told us yesterday . She then asked if we had our ID . My partner advised that he had his drivers licence which is an acceptable form of identitcation for any contract. She told us that it was not accept able - we would have to return with an ID . When we inquired why a drivers license wasn't accepted she couldn't give us an answer . We asked for a manager and she said that there was no one on shift, we asked that she phone a manager and she refused . She then continued to play on her phone and ly on the counter.
The service has been absolutely pathetic and Telkom clearly doesn't want business . We fully understand that there are procedures in place but prehaps the staff should be trained to advised customers of what is needed the first time to avoid frustration . Also , please ensure that your sales consultants have the necessary customer service s****s to deal with the public .
