Sales and Technical department have no coherence and no ability to solve

So I wanted an 8mbps line and ordered one through the sales department. I got about 6.9 mbps speed for a few days and then it dropped to 4.5 mbps. I had numerous calls to Telkom tech department and they tried to fix things and couldnt, but saw there was something wrong on their side so they sent a technician to come look. I was at work so he had a look while someone let him in and told me that it was my router that was faulty. I tried numerous other routers and still got the same response. I sent my router back to the manufacturer and told them its their fault and they replaced my router.

I got my new router and still got the same response, 4.5 mbps. I phoned Telkom again and they said its probably the router and I should go to the Telkom shop to test it. I tested it at the Telkom shop and got speeds of 10 mbps. I then phoned Telkom tech again and they told me although I'm paying for an 8mbps line the adsl or something I'm registered on means the exchange can only handle 5 mbps and that I should phone the sales department and tell them to change it to an xdsl or vdsl account, whatever that means. Why was this not told to me one of the dozen times I phoned Telkom tech to sort this out? Why was I paying for an 8mbps account when I got a 5mbps account, which was also laggy and inconsistent to game on.

The Telkom sales department is closed.

I want a refund for the excess I paid for an 8mbps line when I was given a 5mbps line, and I want my line to be fixed so that I get 8mbps.

I am sick of phoning and driving back and forth.

Hi Moenieb,

A Telkom technician was at my house yesterday. He saw my line speed was 4.5, as I reported. He then put in a new line etc. I was still getting the same speed and he suggesed I phone Telkom and see what the problem is because everything is installed correctly. He agreed it is not my router. I'm not sure if the technician came because of your report or because I went to a Telkom shop on Sunday morning to further try sort this out.

Please can you urgently advise what is going on and how this is going to be fixed.

Thanks.

Hi Telkom,

I have still not received any technical support from Telkom since my reply above (nor anyone from your accounts department yet). I have had to log another fault on your mobile chat service for them to send a technician. This would be the third technican to come to my premises and I am not very hopeful of anything being resolved.

I have also emailed you twice in response to an email with your hellopeter address with no response yet.

This problem has been going on since November and I would be grateful if you could treat this with some urgency and provide me with feedback on how my problem is being fixed.
