******* Telkom service
Even the one star is very generous!! 1. I have an iPhone xs that my husband bought for me on contract. 2. One morning the phone stopped working and I took it to Telkom. They checked if it was still under warranty which it still was and booked it in for repairs. That was October 2019! A month later my husband gets a call that the phone is ready for collection. I go to get the phone and I'm told my husband needs to collect the phone himself since the phone is under his name. I left without the phone and went home. In the afternoon the store calls my husband and tell me that I can come to the store and fetch my phone. It's already late so I tell him to let them know that I'll come back the next day. The following day I go back and they tell me I can't have the phone since its not in my name!! I tell them that they are the ones who called my husband that I can come and fetch the phone, they tell me that the person who might have made the call is not in and they need a letter saying that the phone can be given to me. My husband calls the store to explain and ask if he can send them an email and they say no, the letter must be hand written!!!!! I ****en leave the store without my phone again!!!! When my husband comes back to town he goes and collects the phone. He gives me the phone and I try to charge it and nothing, the phone isn't working!!!! The following day I head back to the store TELKOM CITY VIEW IN DURBAN to find out what's going on! I get there and they tell me there's loadshedding so I must go to another branch! I go to the pavillion mall. The technician tests the phone and checks his computer and tells me that the phone was returned unrepaired and that it's because find my iphone was still active on the phone, the person who booked it the first time around should have checked for al that or the repair center should have called me! He checks if the phone is still under warranty and yes it still is and books it for repairs again! Two weeks later I get a call from TELKOM PAVILION and asked to send them proof of purchase! I go to where the phone was bought and the guy assisting me tells me that they dont have any records because someone took over the franchise and so any purchases made before June 2019 they dont have any record of. I ask him so what am I supposed to do now and he tells me that I was supposed to keep my copy of the contract ,its really not their problem and there's nothing he can do!!!! I left the store furious and went to PAVILION to let them know what just happened. The store manager at PAVILION tells me that's nonsense, he said h will see what he can do but in the meantime I should go and ask for the owner's contact details because no one can buy a business without its books. So I go back to TELKOM CITY VIEW AGAIN! The same so called manager says to me they are not allowed to give out the owner's details. One lady at the store come to my rescue and says they must do a screenshot and send it for repairs. She then picks up that when the phone went in for repairs in October a copy of the proof of purchase was sent to the repair center and they should have used it!!! Now the warranty has expired (while the phone is with them)!!! On Friday 21 February 2020 I get a message from Telkom saying I must pay R12000 for repairs because the phone is now out of warranty!!!! A consultant just called me now and said the phone is "physically damaged " and must be replaced and must therefore pay R12000 or reject the quote and pay R181 for shipping failing which they will sell the phone after 30 days. Now please sort out this nonsense Telkom!!! I am not paying a cent and if my husband is to continue paying for the phone I want my phone repaired or replaced!!!! Ref No:TRJ108565
