Requested Contract upgraded ended up with a new contract

My smart plan 2.5 GIG plan was eligible for a renewal/upgrade. I went to telkom Clearwater and requested to be upgraded to smart plan 250 voice contract with a Hueawei P9 Lite Handset. The lady assisting did not explain that a data plan could be upgrade with a voice plan and instead proceeded to issue me a new contract without my consent. Upon realisation that the 2.5 GIG smart plan was still on contract and hadn't been migrated I went to Telkom to inform them. In an attepmt to fix this they migrated my other contract a 5 GIG data plan onto the 250 voice SIM. When I received my invoice I was shocked to see a bill for R2895.94 was due. The ivoice included itemised bills for the following: Smart plan 2.5 GIG, smart plan 250 voice and a migration penalty. Totaling R 2896.94. This came as huge as my previous months bill was around R 430 and with the upgrade I had expected my bill to move to R 588. Taking prorata into consideration for the first month of the 250 voice plan contract this could have been around R 700.

Imagine my shock at the nearly R 3000 bill when all I had requested was upgrade to a contract that was only going to add about one hundred rands to my normal monthly bill. To this day telkom continues to drag its feet and doesn't seem eager to resolve this issue. To add injury to insult it would appear as if I will continue to get billed for SMART plan 2.5 for next forseeable future as have still not cancelled this contract.

Try to reverse any of these transactions and it messes with your credit profile.

Thanks a lot Telkom for ensuring that my bank account will be R 2000 in arrears this month as a result of ****** *********** employees who have no idea of the concept of customer service i

Still no feedback from cancellations, contract was again topped up with data this month.

I gues this means I will again be billed for a contract that should have ceased three months ago.

Telkom must definately be given first worst customer service in the world.
