I app**** for the relocation of my phone line and ADSL on 24 April 2017, with the effective date being 28 April 2017.

I was given a reference number 161 711 595A.

I was contacted by a Telkom Tech on 5 May 2017, who attended my property to install my line. He informed me that he could not complete the installation as there were no available ports at the exhange. He further advised me that he had, on the same day, made a request to the Telkom cable Dept to insert a port at the exchange and that it would take a week or so.

I followed up with the Telkom the following week on 8 May 2017 via the chat service on their website. I was informed by the agent that the job card would only have been received on 8 May and that I should check again on thursday, 11 May.

On 11 May, I contacted Telkom through the chat service. I was informed by an agent that my request for ports had been cancelled by me or an interested party acting on my behalf. I was quite suprised because I knew this to be untrue. Upon asking for further information and on how I can re-instate my request, the chat session was terminated by the agent. My anger and frustration at that point was quite high and I elected to attend a Telkom branch for answers.

On 12 May 2017 I attended the Clearwater branch and was assisted by Lindiwe. She checked her system and advised me that my request was cancelled by Telkom as there was a project in the area resulting in no new ports being installed. I asked for details of the project and when it would be completed. She advised that she did not have access to that information. Lindiwe then spoke to her manager and they suggested and cancel my line and ADSL due to this. Reluctantly I signed the forms and just before handing it in, mentioned that I really dont want to cancel my service and that I wanted my Line and ADSL fitted. Lindiwe then spoke to her manager again and informed me that her manager would send a request to the technical manager to try to sort out a connection for me. She advised that she could promise anything but that I would be contacted by Telkom.

I decided that I would wait a week before attending the branch again to enquire on Lindiwe's request and possible cancellation of my contract.

My post on hello peter was sparked yesterday upon logging on to my telkom account. Upon checking on my reference for relocation, I saw the matter as resolved, stating Enjoy your Telkom service. Imagine how frustrating that would be!

I not received any sms's or emails from Telkom during this whole ordeal. Not one.

I would like my telkom phone and ADSL connect asap or at least a straight answer on my request.

I honestly do believe that my request can be resolved albeit for a little effort on Telkoms part.

Best regards,
Update:
I called the call centre yesterday to enquire why my order online reflects as completed. I was informed by the agent that the order was cancelled by the technical dept. The agent seemed confused as her system picked up that there were 6 ports available in my area. She again logged a new order under ref no: ********** 40A.
While I did get a response from Telkom on Hello Peter, it is not a constructive one. I am still waiting for some concrete answers.
I literally moved 500 meters to a neighbouring complex and would appreciate an explanation why the port at the exchange used for my previous property cannot be used for my new property?
