Regret choosing Telkom

I have ordered phones on the internet from an email that was attached to a statement from Telkom. I had a phonecall from Telkom on the 15th of Aug to confirm the order and the money was deducted from my account on the 20th. I received the following text on the 22nd;

Telkom SA: Dear Customer, thank you for ordering Huawei P10 Gold + Huawei P8 Lite 2017 White + Free SIM & Connection on FreeMe 1GB + 10GB Telkom Data x 3 Months @ R369 x 24 Months. Your order reference ******x. Kindly expect further communication regarding the delivery of your order within 24 to 48 hours. You are welcome to email us at ********** should you require assistance. Thank you for choosing Telkom.

I sent an email to the above mentioned email address and it came back, address not found.

After the text message I had no further communication. I went to a Telkom store to find out if they could help me. They gave me a number to phone and I spoke to a rude consultant who told me the reference number I gave her was not a reference number although that is what it was called on the text message. And she told me she could not help me the store should help me. The manager phoned but could not get hold of anyone. She took my number to let me know if she got through to them but I didn't hear anything back. I phoned on Friday 31 Aug and was told they have a problem with stock but it will probably be delivered on Monday 3 Sept. It is now the 4th and I have still not heard anything from Telkom.

They are very quick to take money for stock they apparently do not have and then there is just no communication from their side and it is almost impossible to find someone to help you.

It's a month later now and still nothing. The previous message I have sent privately to Telkom was just ignored.

Good Day This response serves as confirmation that your query has been received. Please be assured our team has tasked this matter to our mobile division to follow up and advise. Please accept our apologies for the inconvenience caused. Regards Telkom Social Media Team Bronwyn Bronwyn it is now the 3rd of October and still no follow up from Telkom. I have received the above message on the 5th of September. Do I need to make a big scene before something is done about this? I am really disappointed. How do you advertise special offers to clients that you cannot you cannot deliver on? Should there not be an alternative then if there is apparently not stock? If you are out of stock why is it up to me to call Telkom every so often and waste 20 - 30 minutes of my time? Shouldn't Telkom be phoning me to apologize about not delivering? Why was my money taken in the first place when you knew there was a problem with stock? Or shouldn't you at least offer to give the clients money back instead of just not giving any feedback at all and hoping I would forget about it? As far as I am concerned it looks like Telkom is *****ing my money.
