Refuse to pay this ridiculous amount!
November 2019 Telkom technicians forced us to move from ADSL to LTE and since day one the connection has been useless. Not only that, our landline (which we still continue paying to this day) cannot receive incoming calls unless the person on the other end calls back a second time. But how would they know that?! We're been told that it sounds as though we answer the call on our end and then immediately put the receiver down in the person ear.
We cancelled the LTE (because it didn't connect and when it did connect, the speed was usually 0. something) in November and we were told investigations had to be done first as to why the connection was terrible. Surely this is something your technicians had to test whil installing but no, they were in a hurry to get it done and leave.
It was at this point, after filing for cancellation, that the connection miraculously stayed blue. But we had already made our decision and signed up for a different LTE, not affiliated with Telkom at all.
Now we're sent a bill of R2,424.39 for: 1. Internet that hardly worked 2. Technicians that rushed through the job 3. A landline that cannot receive incoming calls 3 months later
We're expected to pay for the technicians installing the router when the internet was terrible and they ruined our landline. Because of the installation we are forced to keep the router on because the landline wouldn't work otherwise.
The owner (my father) of the account is a pensioner and this ridiculous statement would mean he has to use 2 MONTHS of pension to pay for this LTE *******.
Seems the only way for Telkom to listen and HOPEFULLY fix something, is when you drag them publically on social media. If not, they talk to you like a misbehaving child when you visit the stores.
