Refusal of cancelation

I took out a contract with Telkom in 2019 I was due for a upgrade but didn't take it and when I call for it to be canceled they're giving me the run around telling me lies that the contract is only 20 months old how is that possible with a contract from 2019. I'm so frustrated please help me.
