I cancelled my ADSL at the beginning of the year. It finally got cancelled properly on the Telkom system in July after spending 2hrs in a queue at Telkom shop in Rosebank. A refund request was logged. On follow up, they confirmed account cancelled and a refund amount of approximately R1400+ was due. A request for refund was logged by Amanda in July. Yesterday, 17.8 on follow up, I was informed by Zahira that the refund was incorrectly logged and was rejected. A new log was made. Today I got an SMS from someone called Mpho to send:
- bank details of where to pay refund
- company registration docs
- ID numbers of all directors
- letter of authority for a refund signed by all directors

What nonsense! The info above is sufficient for anyone in that company to commit ***** in my company's name. I understand proof of bank account letter from the bank to effect a refund, which wasn't asked for, but all else is irrelevant in my opinion. Why does it have to be so complicated? The bank account is already on the system, just reverse the billing. #TelkomPayBackTheMoney
