Dear Telkom Customer Services,
I am formally disputing the R220 charge that has been raised on my account after my Telkom Home WiFi contract was cancelled and the account was finalised in June 2026.
My service was cancelled during June 2026, and I paid all amounts that were required at the time of cancellation. I subsequently contacted the Telkom call centre, where I was informed that the cancellation had been processed and that the account had been finalised.
I am therefore extremely concerned to have received a further invoice requesting payment of R220 for an account that had already been cancelled.
Please provide me with the following in writing:
Confirmation of the exact date on which my Telkom Home WiFi service was cancelled. Confirmation that my final payment was received and allocated to the account. A detailed explanation of what the new R220 charge relates to, including the billing period for which Telkom claims this amount is payable. If this R220 charge is incorrect, please immediately reverse the charge. Written confirmation that my account has a zero balance and is permanently closed, with no further monthly charges to be raised. Confirmation that the account will not be referred to a collections agency or have any adverse credit-related consequences while this charge is formally disputed.
I have retained my payment records, cancellation information, invoices and details of my previous communication with Telkom.
Please treat this as a formal billing complaint and provide me with a complaint/reference number.
If Telkom does not resolve this matter satisfactorily, I reserve the right to escalate the complaint to the Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA), together with the relevant supporting documentation and records of my previous communications with Telkom. ICASA's published complaints procedure specifically provides for telecommunications billing complaints and requires the service provider to be given an opportunity to resolve the matter before escalation.
I expect Telkom to investigate this matter and provide written confirmation of the outcome.
Kind regards,
