I went into a Telkom branch to enquire about cancelling my landline and adsl contract. Upon explaining my contract and my desire to cancel, the employee handed me a cancellation form and CIRCLED the email address that I was meant to email the scanned document and my ID to. I emailed in the documents on the 10/12/2015 and I was aware that my contract would only be cancelled within a month. I therefore cancelled my debit order awaiting the last account so I could settle in person. A month later, I called in to the help centre to find out about the cancellation of my contract - I was told that there was no cancellation filed on my contract and the lady helping me on the phone eventually found out that I had sent it to the incorrect email address - the employee who gave me the form circled the WRONG email address (as can be seen on the form I sent) AFTER I explained that I had a landline/adsl contract. I expected a portion refund on my initial R700 deposit as I expected them to only deduct pro rata charges for the last month. As a student, I needed the money at the beginning of Jan. I've only been able to \log a dispute"and still get sms's about ridiculously large amounts I'm owing."""
