I purchased an HP Notebook at the beginning of March 2016 that included a Microsoft Office 365. On every attempt of trying to install the software the notebook froze and on one occasion it shut down on its own. I was under the impression that my data was depleted hence the installation process freezing. Little did I realize that something was actually wrong with the device when I took it into the Telkom store and the technician tried to investigate. He confirmed that there is definitely a fault because the device is brand new and has not been used it should not operate as slow as it was operating. I called a company called platinum warranty who supplies devices to Telkom and covers the warranty on the devices. Its been a goose chase ever since. Now i have been informed by Enrico from Platinum Warranty that should it be a software issue I will be quoted R850 to have it repaired. I cannot understand how a manufacturing fault becomes my expense. I am highly disappointed and frustrated a I refuse to pay for something that I cannot use. There are other Telkom customers that complain on a daily basis about the quality of the devices sold at Telkom. Is it now quantity over quality?
