Prescribed debt

Please assist urgently as I have been trying to get my number back from Telkom so that I can leave just them and go to another service provider, I have a debt with them that they defaulted back in 2012 8ta of about R500 and some odds, strangely I was never told nor was collected even at the time when I ported to them this year June even the time I got ****** and black listed my fone they never told me , but now that I want to do a sim swopped then tell me they cannot not assist me cause of this stale debt that is older than 3 years as per law Prescription Act No. 68 of 1969 state that if the debt is older than three years and was not collect by the credit provider that that period it should be written off. Dealing with Telkom on this matter has showed me what type of company I am really dealing with and want nothing but my number back this enquiry goes back since beginning of October ref number ********** 9 with Latua the only thing she did she closed the enquiry and ran away no feedback same goes with Paul ********** 6, he also blocked me from communicating with him via email that he gave me and promised to deliver, BOTH OF THEM are TEAM LEADERS/ MANAGERS!!!
