Possible leak of personal information by Telkom staff

I app**** for a contract phone at Telkom Liberty Midlands Mall. I submitted my bank statement, payslip, ID copy on 14 July 2019. On 18 July 2019 I received a call from Cell C, Vodacom and Telkom telling me that someone has been using my bank statement, payslip and ID copy to take cellphone contracts in Durban and Ballito. I am not sure, but it seems like someone from Telkom sold my personal information to someone. The reason for assuming so is because i never shared this information with anyone else but Telkom. Copies of my personal documents were scanned onto their computer. This has never happened in my entire life. And I still have the original documents with me, yet someone has the copies, copies i never made, Strange. An hour ago, 2 ********** debit orders (CELL C) went off from my account.

I am also unhappy with the service i got from TELKOM this month. Firstly, on 14 July 2019 I app**** for a contract phone at Telkom Liberty. No one bothered to call and update me regarding my order. Only when i followed up on 24 July 2019, I was told my order was approved but there was no stock. I went in store on 30 July 2019, but still there was no stock. So I tried to change the order and I was told to bring a new bank statement, of which I refused. So apparently when you place an order at Telkom, they do not order the phone for you, when stock comes- it is given to whoever that comes in store. There is lack of communication between the store and the customers. The store contact number that appears on Google does not work. Overall, I was dissatisfied with the service, and right now I wouldn't recommend Telkom to anyone.
