Ported mobile number not working

I ported over 5 years ago from MTN and my number stopped working about 4 months ago. I cannot receive any calls and can only make calls. My sms service stopped working. Contacted Telkom 3 times and they cannot fix the issue. They asked me to contact MTN who will not help me as I am not their customer. How difficult is it to fix a simple routing issue?
