Poor service experienced

Since May 2019,through to June,July,August, September 2019, been engaging Telkom abour our house prepaid phone (land line), number ***.We were advised to call their *** number, to migrate to a portable phone. Also sent emails to 10213@ Telkom.Firstly trying to call the said number is a night mare ,you hold on forever. Finally got through, was told, i had to phone 10213.At this number, one is bombarded with endless Telkom adverts, again holding on forever. When i finally got to speak to someone, was informed delivery of my phone will be in July 2019, about the 10th. Phoned in August 2019, was told my order is pending. Phoned in September 2019, was then told to go to a Telkom branch close to me. Went to Springs Mall branch in September 2019, been there about four times being told, they are trying get my order to accept. Each time, i am told to go and come back or they will phone me. Nobody phones, and when returning to branch, no resolution is reached. On the 16 September 2019, went back to Springs Mall branch, was shocked to be told they cannot help me, the only option is for me to take up a R199 p/m rental for my house line. This i do not understand. I am an existing prepaid customer, i buy or recharge at an affordable amount for usage. Now i have to pay a much higher fixed rental amount. We clearly cannot afford this expensive, option Telkom wants to put us on. Why all this time Telkom was delaying my order. Since June 2019, running to and fro, being promised this or that. Now i am told ,there is nothing they can do for me as far as my existing prepaid house line service? Can someone from Telkom explain this? Does this mean, i have to cancellservice with Telkom, if i cannot afford the new Option being introduced ? Is there an affordable option?
