Poor service Delivery
I am very disappointed with service that I have been getting from Telkom from the moment I purchased a device with them.
The've been things that I have been discovering new T's & C's which were not explained to me by their consultant. To make things worst as a consumer when you purchase something it's a standard procedure by law to ask the consumer if they would like to insure what they are purchasing. However, with Telkom I was never asked that and when I went to their store to ask about the insurance I was told that they only insure devices within 7 days. Min-due that their *********** consultant never asked of insurance and because of their *********** employee here I am stuck with a device and going to pay back close to R 20 000.00 that is not insured. As it is my first time binding myself in a contract In feel Telkom took advantage of me as I didn't know anything and I was a first-timer. Consumer acts requires that the supplier should as the consumer if they would like to insure whatever that is being sold before going out of the facility of the supplier.
The very same device that I purchased had a default, within two weeks the one of the speakers went quiet on me and it was not my negligence. I took the phone to the store and it was booked for repairs and no replacement phone was given to me and I was told that they were only going to give a phone if I had insured my phone. By the way when they read T&C's I was told that should anything wrong happened to the phone within a period of a month after a date of s purchased it will be replaced with a new device. As I am writing this email the I do not have a phone.
When I binded myself verbally with Telkom I only agreed that they should debit their money on the 25th of every month however, the consultant that was assisting me never told me that there's going to be a test debit which happened within 24 hours and by Telkom taking money from my account without my concern automatically they have stole from me.
I still do not have a formal contract with Telkom on the device was purchased on the 30th of October 2017 and on the 4th of December 2017 the sent an invoice but contract is not there I do not even Know my contract in detail. the only documents that I have from Telkom are delivery note and the invoiced they sent. Till this day I do not have a document that is binding me and Telkom and I am told that a consultant will call me, it's almost a month now without any documentations and I do not know my contract in detail. However com the 27th December Telkom will be deducting the money of the device that I have merely used and which is not my possesion.
I have been calling 10213 and 081180 for weeks but I am told that they are unable to assist or they will promise that they will get back to me which they don't. I have asked for the record of my conversation with the consultant (Funeka Khumalo) and till this day I haven't received it. On to of that I have been told that her manager will get back to me which he/she hasn't returned a call or an email because both were copied regarding my matter
I have been sending emails to ********** ********** and ********** and no one has returned to my email or called back.
On the 12 December 2007 I went to the head office and I was denied access to the premises of Telkom by the security guard called Makhubele from Imvula at Gate 1 even though i had complaints with Telkom and later on he then interrogated me regarding my complain me even though he is not an employee of Telkom and that is so unprofessional as he is a contractor providing security services to Telkom. Later on he then called a consultant from the inside which then I spoke to on his phone while I was out side(at the gate). As a customer of Telkom I feel that they do not value me. When I purchased the device I spoke to an employee of Telkom and when I have complaint no employee from Telkom wants to assist of be liable as they are passing the bug among one another. Moreover, now they there is a third party which I do not know (Imvula Security employee) who now I had to explain my to complaint. I believe maybe on my contract which I do not have it does state that should I have complains I should refer them to Imvula security Services. I really was treated like a trash yesterday as Telkom customer.
I have presented my complain to South African Complaints Commission and I was told that I should forward the responses that I got from Telkom. However, I do not see the necessity of going external before trying to solve the matter with Telkom internally.
