POOR CONNECTIVITY BY A POOR SERVICE PROVIDER

I am utterly annoyed with the level of service from this particular service provider. I took up a data contract 2 years ago. The level of connectivity in my area was shockingly disappointing yet during my application at one of the stores I was assured that a connectivity test has been done for my area in particular and I shouldn't have any issues once activated.

I unfortunately had to continue paying the contract debit order because I had committed to doing so and I did not want any negative reflection on my ITC payment profile.

I started inquiring regarding when the actual contract would expire and I was informed that in April of 2021 the contract would cease.

A few months before the expiry of the contract I started receiving calls from the upgrade department. All agents informed me that my contract will expire in April and wanted to establish if I would be interest to upgrade.

On all calls I have received from Telkom I clearly indicated that I am not interested in any upgrade and I actually am anticipating the expiry date so that the debit orders could cease since I have been paying for a service I am not receiving.

To my surprise, in the Month of May 2021 I received an invoice from Telkom indicating that I will be debited at the end of the month.

I am uncertain why I would be debited for a service that has already expired and which I haven't even attempted to connect to for Months!

The last straw is today when I received another call from the Upgrade department. I indicated to the lady that I am not interested and I asked her to provide clarity in why I am still receiving an invoice of a service which she herself just confirmed that it has expired.

In a rude tone, I was informed that the Onus is in me to ensure that a contract is cancelled. I need to understand why do I have to issue a notice to cancel when there is an agreement in place that the service will be continue for the duration of the contract and thereafter expire in a particular month.

I explained that I have on numerous occasions expressed that I am looking forward to the end of the contract, I do not understand why a message was not conveyed to the relevant department that I will not be upgrading and neither will I be continuing doing any business with Telkom after two years of paying my hard earned money for a service I have never used!

The agent told me that if I do not have any reference numbers from the previous calls then I have nothing to prove. I asked her to provide me with a reference number for our call and she dropped the call from me! I was not surprised really... the service had been POOR from day one so I was not expecting anything more.

I want the public to know how clients are being unfairly treated by this service provider and I hope they work on improving their level of service.

I demand for someone from Telkom's complaints team to email me and address my concerns!
