Poor Communication from a Telecommunication Company

Good Day,

On 15 Feb 2017, I reported a fault with my ADSL. After the technician came, he logged the fault as a faulty modem and I was told to go to a nearby Telkom store to have it replaced. The store at Gateway then informed me that there is no stock of the modem and that there is nothing they can do but suggested I call the sales number to order a new modem. The sales agent mentioned that they don't do orders for replacement of faulty modems and that only a Telkom store would be able to assist. Having no success at the Gateway Store, I went to the Pavillion store on 23 Feb 2017 and mentioned the problem I was having. The technician at the store verified that the modem was indeed faulty and a another agent from the store took down my details to input on a waiting list.

Today (06 Mar 2017) I called the Pavillion store number and was informed that 41 units have arrived and after confirming with the agent that I was on a waiting list, I was informed that I would be assured a modem if I went to store t have it exchanged. Upon arriving at the store I was horrified to firsly learn that my details were not even captured on the waiting list and that the 41 units the store received was already reserved!

My complaint firstly is why was I asked to go to the store if the units were already reserved? Surely as a telecommunication company, one would imagine that communication within your own company is correctly transferred. Secondly, why was my details not captured on 23 Feb 2017 for the waiting list? Thirdly, how will I be compensated for all these days that I have no ADSL (since 15 Feb 2017 and counting)?

Dear Gareth,
Thank you for your correspondence. Unfortunately there is no reply specific to my questions. Please refer to the last paragraph of my original review; there are 3 specific points on which I require clarity. Kindly respond with a more pertinent reply specific to those 3 queries.
In particular, let me make you aware that only after I went to the store on 06 March 2017 was my name actually added to the waiting list.
Kind Regards,
Caleb
