Poor ADSL Line Lenasia Ext 9
Good Day<br> I live in Lenasia Extension 9 where the maximum ADSL speed is 2Mbps. I was on 2Mbps only to find it was unstable and only syncing on 1.3Mbps and latency of >400ms so when the 1Mbps line option returned I downgraded to it. After my previous complaint to Telkom the 1Mbps line was stable and working fine up until last week. I started getting a latency of >400ms through out the day and download speeds of 0.4Mbps. I logged a call to Telkom Fault: 1466CRK191115. Today the technician came to resolve the issue. However based on the feedback from the technician the main issue is due to outdated ADSL infrastructure, congestion and distance to exchange. I have been told this so often and it seems like nothing is being done. Other ADSL users in this are are experiencing the same issues and it is extremely frustrating. The solution that the technician provided was to downgrade my line to 0.5Mbps to get it more stable. However the latency is still high >300ms and download speed of 0.38Mbps. The technician informed me that he will keep the fault open and try and arrange to have my port changed. I am extremely frustrated of this poor ADLS service and lack of initiative to fix the problem.
