PLEASE SET ME FREE

For the past 2 weeks I have been trying to process the Termination of my Telkom Mobile Contract. The contract has 4 months left on it and I wanted to know how much my settlement would be.

I called the Call Centre and a request was logged. It was supposed to have been procecced in 48 hours. When that came and gone I went to the Local Telkom Shop and was told I could only know the exact amout after the 10th. I went back after the 10th and was told that I could make my own calculation then add R800 for early termination. I insisted that I wanted it on paper and eventually a letter was typed and printed for me. I also signed a notice or termination form.

I then asked one more important question. Once I pay this amount. How soon will my number be released so I can go back onto prepaid or port to another network if I so wish.

The call centre said 30-60 Days. Meaning I would involunteraly pay another premium. So I went back to the local shop and they said they would get back to me. That was Saturday The 12th today is Wednesday the 16TH

Hi Monieb

Almost 3 weeks later my issue has not been resolved. I was contacted twice by 2 different agents. One telling me that my issues is being resolved. The other who took all my deatils last week Monday and promised to email me the settlement letter on Tuesday morning. She said as soon as I make payment I must scan and send it back to her. Then she will make sure that my contract is cancelled and my number is release immediately. Almost a week later. I am still waiting.

In the meantime. Telkom has debited my account and politely sent me an invoice. And now even if the account is settled today. You will still charge me Prorata for one week. Whilst I have been begging you for more than a month to please tell me how much I owe you. So I can pay it and we can go our separate ways.

Please Telkom. Please SET ME FREE

Just Got This Reply when I posted the above on Telkom's Facebook Page:

Telkom Hi, you can use this link for the cancellation forms, it provides an e-mail address where you need to send it to when done. They do accept electronic signatures, so no need to print and if you did send it, forward it again to ********** and use your reference number - AI ********** , when you apply for the cancellation as the subject, so they can backdate your credits. ^LA

This is my Responce:

Gaopalelwe Gos Masibi Telkom I am not happy with your response. I find more of an excuse that a resolution to my dilemma. If it was that easy why was this step not followed in the 1st place instead of me having to call and waste my time going to your store on several occasions? Will my time be reimbursed? I have found this form that you sent me the link to. It is the same form that I filled in at your store in Mafikeng. Why should I fill it in again? What happened to the email with my settlement letter and banking details where I was supposed to deposit the settlement amount? No guys. Please give us better service we are paying customers and fair service is the least we deserve!
