What would be the best way to describe this business?

Putrid, Insipid, a bunch of ******* complicit with their subsidiaries. It is unbecoming of a service provider, the biggest and most monopolising service provider of this country to continue in this manner.

This review relates to Platinum Warranty, Telkoms subsidiary.

With my daughter starting online schooling and us being Telkom customers for years, my husband and I decided to take out a laptop contract which we are regretting till this very day. I can’t understand why we have to endure so much grief and suffer a financial loss as well. Paying for a laptop that is not in our possession, why is this still a practise? Why haven’t newer and more cost effective modules been put into play? Why are you so eager to take my money?

We took out a contract with Telkom Mobile and 8 months into to the contract the laptop stopped charging with the charger still connected. As the laptop was still under warranty we took the laptop back to the same Telkom store we had taken the contract from. The customer service agent then assured my husband that the laptop will be looked at and be sent to Platinum Warranty as the laptop was still under warranty. Sometime passed, we needed to make alternative arrangements for our daughter and then one day, via email we received a shock of our lives. We received a quote from Platinum Warranty, stating that after their inspection of the laptop the conclusion was the motherboard needs to be replaced but because of a missing ***** and a claim that the laptop was previously opened we need to pay them !!!

We need to pay Platinum Warranty for a ***** that went missing from the moment Customer Service Agent at the Telkom store took the laptop and until it arrived at the Plantinum Office/workshop. Platinum Warranty, stop trying to be like typical insurance companies looking for loopholes to avoid your responsibility. We are paying and you are contracted, fulfil your contractual obligations and try to have a semblance of honour.

In our view, Platinum Warranty you are a bunch of ******* colluding with Telkom, so many other unsuspecting customers are falling for this thievery and just paying for quotes to get laptops returned in a working condition. I am tired of being ****** by this country and its companies ….. Tax paying South Africans, the citizens and backbone of this country are not receptacles but hard working people trying to navigate life and we don’t need unsympathetic, detached, unaccountable businesses to ***** from us and make our lives difficult.

I want my laptop back and in a working condition!!!!!
