I app**** for an ADSL line at my residence in June this year. After having paid the deposit and over a month later not getting any response from Telkom, I phoned Maggie Muthambi ( ********** 910) to cancel the installation and get my refund of the deposit. Maggie informed me that I needed to take my statement and go to a Telkom store and they would process the refund.

Yesterday was the first time I have been able to get some time off work and having to been onto the Telkom website looking for the nearest Telkom store proceeded to the Telkom shop at Randburg Square. After walking around the mall for half an hour I find out the shop was closed and the staff have been moved to Nicolway. So I get in my car and drive to Nicolway, upon finding the shop, I am informed that they are a mobile shop and cannot assist me with an ADSL query. They referred me to the Fourways Crossing Telkom Shop. Once there I wait in the queue only to be informed that they don’t process refunds at the branch.

They get the call centre to phone me where I am informed that they will “lodge a dispute” and Telkom will decide if they going to pay my money back. This process is supposed to take between 5 to 10 working days! At this point I am totally disgusted by the service I have received from Telkom and costs that I have incurred in trying to sort this issue out.

I would like to lay a formal complaint against Maggie Muthambi and request that my refund gets expedited.
