PHONE LINE STILL NOT REPAIRED SINCE 7 FEBRUARY

We experienced a heavy storm on the 6th February that knocked down the telephone pole in my neighbour's garden, resulting in our telephone line being snapped. I reported the fault on the 7th of February. Since then we have had two different technician's at our house, each doing exactly the same thing, which was to say that the fault had to be passed on to another department. Nothing happened, but last week I received an SMS stating that my fault had been resolved and asking me how I would like to rate Telkom's service. I immediately called the call centre (again) and was eventually put through to a supervisor named Sidwell who informed me that the fault had indeed been closed, eventhough we still did not have a new pole or a phone line, but that he would re-open it and get back to me. To his credit, he called me the next day (Thursday 10th March), to tell me that he had communicated with the team and said that they were having difficulties erecting the pole, but that it would be done within a couple of days. That was the first time anyone had called me regarding this fault and we still have no phone line, nor can I see any sign of a new telephone pole on my neighbour's property.

Thank you for making contact with us and bringing this to our attention.

This response serves as confirmation that your query has been received and attended. We have interrogated the line and the test results indicate defects at present.
