Phone bill received a month after last month paid
I'm writing this for records purposes, as Telkom is not the type of company that gives much in written format...as many times as I ask the agents on the phone. Also, hellopeter seems to be (as I've mentioned in previous posts) the only platform on which they reply or actually take note.
So here goes...
I cancelled my Telkom landline month to month account at the end of September. I was told that I needed to give one month's notice - fine, I accept. I gave them that one month and the account, as confirmed in one of the few emails I've got from Telkom, concluded at the end of October. I paid for the month of October as well. I recently received a bill for October, yet again. I now have 2 bills that say October. This second bill is higher than the previous month's bill. Anyway, since I had already paid the last month's amount that I owed (that notice month's amount), I went into the Telkom store to query. It was then confirmed by an agent in the store who checked on the system that I DO NOT OWE Telkom anything. This is just how it works. When you cancel your account, you still receive a bill for up to 3 months after, even though you don't actually owe them anything. He said that I will be debited that amount on the bill at the end of November, BUT it will be refunded back into my account. *Side Note: He said I shouldn't have made my account a debit order, because then I could have just not paid this amount that I don't owe them. Regardless, he confirmed that the amount that they will take off WILL come back to me. Hence my post. I need this to be on record. I received confirmation that I do not owe anything and that what is taken will come back to me. Also, I don't actually need confirmation that I don't owe anything, because I know what I've paid and when. But it's always great when an official person from a company gives you confirmation.
Having said all of this, I must say that Telkom mobile is great! It's like the mobile and landline sectors are two totally different companies.
Kind regards, Still a mobile customer, just not a landline one, Faseeg.
