Pensioner still waiting 4 months for land-line phone!!!! And paying for it!!!!
My grandmother is a pensioner. She has a land-line number. A consultant from Telkom called and informed my grandmother that she would need to transfer the land line onto her name as my grandfather is deceased. My grandmother went to Telkom Ballito and they informed her to pay R700 for a transfer, which she had done. Please note, this was in February. They informed her they will give her a rechargeable cordless phone within 4 to 6 weeks. She visited Telkom Ballito five times thereafter and they kept making excuses saying that the process is stuck . Till date, she has not received any correspondence from Telkom nor has she received the phone. She is still being charged for a phone she does not even have! It is now June and she has been under immense stress regarding this whole issue. How unfair for an elderly person and Telkom, till date, has done nothing to assist her!
