Penalty fees

I have never seen that it takes a month for debit order details to be updated. I tried to update my details from mid January 2019. I have only managed to do it 8 February 2019. Now I got penalized in January. And now I am going to get penalized again in February.

The worst part is that I had to close my account due to unfortunate events that is not in my control. These charges is ridiculous. The worst part is I cant even put a temporary stop on it. No one can help in avoiding this. Why should I be penalised for something that I have tried to rectify? Above it all, my account is not even in arrears.
