Telkom has really been unprofessional lately and it’s making my account/name dirty unnecessarily.
I’ve been asking Telkom to update my banking details for the past 4 months, and it has been failing to do so for the past 3 months.
At first it was not done at all, I only realised when no Telkom deduction went through and I called to enquire, only to find out they still had the old (closed) account. I was charged a backout fee (R200.94 due end of Aug, brought forward to Sep). I asked the consultant to update my details and he did, only to find out he did not save the changes on his system.
The second month my Telkom deduction did not go through as expected again, I suffered another backout fee (R200.94 due end of Sep, brought forward to Oct). I called and enquiried again, I was told “we apologise for the inconvenience sir your new banking details are in your profile but were not been saved”
On the third month, they finally had the correct details but because of their BDO rules (that, deductions don’t go through the same month the changes have been made in), I suffered another R200.94 (End of Oct, brought forward to Nov). I called in to tell them to reverse these charges, only 2 month's penalty fees in total have been credited to me and the other one has been left out.
This month Telkom tried deducting on the 16th and 20th (Nov) and I don’t know for what because I kept on preaching to them that they must deduct at the end of each month. ANOTHER PENALTY FEES ARE IN PROGRESS! Telkom is treating me as if I’m defaulting when it is the one that keeps on tempering with a closed account and failing to pay attention to detail thereof.
These charges need to be audited thoroughly because my bill now is beyond R1100 half of which is entirely not my fault. That excludes the back-out fees that are soon to be accounted for because they went into my account on the wrong dates and they found nothing. Please advise, this is really getting to me.
