Payment Rejection fee
I am a client of Telkom mobile who had to change her bank account details. In changing my bank account, I called Telkom to update the account number, I was told that this was not possible because my account is less than three months old. I was advised to make an alternative payment which I did on the day the debit order was due (the day I received my salary).
Now I received an invoice where I am charged a payment rejection fee of R202.00. I tried to update my banking details with you but I was told it was not possible, and I am still charged the extra fee even though I made the payment on the day the debit order was supposed to go through.
In such a case, this means that Telkom is going to charge me this payment rejection fee for the next two months.
How am I penalised when I made the payment on time and Telkom is the one that refused to update my banking details?
