Paying more than I should
I opened a contract with Telkom on 1 Nov 2018 at your Ballito branch. At the time I went to do the contract the pricing that was given to me on a phamplet that was in store was R500.
Upon receiving notification that funds had gone off my account in Dec to the tune of R1 414, I visited the store to enquire. They were not too sure why my pricing was not R1 000 as I had expected and requested I call the call centre. I did this and was very surprised to learn that I had signed up for a R605 contract. I told them that this is impossible. Went back to the store and was given a very bad attitude by a lady. I requested camera footage so that we can see me on camera with the booklet and pricing I am referring to. Again with an attitude, she told me she can’t give me the camera footage - that I must wait for her supervisor the next day. Her attitude put me off. The call centre agent who was assisting me advised me to cancel my contact and sign up for a new one. Where I would again be required to pay sim connection fees and not get a refund for the past three months where I was overcharged by a total of R315. It’s important to also note that no one at the store mentioned connection fees to me when I took up the contract. I won’t make that an issue as I have taken out contracts before and should have remembered that one gets charged connection fees. Your consultant should, however, still remind the customer of this. I am extremely unhappy with the way my issue was handled by the lady at the store. I felt greatly undermined by her. I gather a large reason for her lack of will to assist me is because I was wearing a franchisee restaurant uniform. She was short of calling me a ****.
The call centre agent asked me to send her an email - I did. It’s been almost 2 weeks and I am yet to hear from her.
While pricing is attractive. Staff is failing Telkom.
I will be cancelling my contract and porting back to MTN.
