Paying for no service

I have not had a telephone line since July this year, after numerous fault logs, I contacted Telkom to be told that they will no longer be replacing cables due to theft. For this explanation I had to call in as no-one would have given me feedback. So i was to call 10213 (sales) to be changed to wireless. My 1st 3 encounters with a consultant I was told that i must take out a new line, but what would happen to my existing line. I was told to cancel. I then called in again to 10213 the consultant tells me to call 10213 again press 1 then 1 then 3. So i did just that, spoke to a consultant who told me to go into a telkom shop and they would process a wireless phone on my existing number. I went into the telkom shop the glen and was told they cannot help me as they only do new sales but can log a request. All this calling and running around has wasted my time for the past 4 months with absolutely no responses or assistance from telkom. Yet telkom is quick to call to remind me for payment. I am paying for a non existent service, and the telkom staff don't seem to care. What type of service is this, pathetic.
