PATHETIC WARRANTY AND REPAIRS
To whom this may concern.
I have taken out a cellphone contract with Telkom and in the 2nd month of the contract my Samsung J7 Pro LCD gave in. I have then taken the phone into the GLEN branch where a consultant by the name of Persival Cwaba assisted me. He had told me the phone is under warranty and can be fixed, he also asked me to agree with him that there is no physical damage to the phone which i agreed to as the phone does not have a scratch on. i also asked him if i am liable for any fees and he said NO because my phone is still under warranty.
3 weeks I receive an SMS stating that my quote has been rejected and I need to pay an assessment fee of R189, going back to the GLEN branch Percival showed me on the system that the quote has been rejected because the repair center couldn't get a hold me for the 1st week after I had dropped off the phone. After 2 days Percival called me too tell me that the quote has been rejected due to physical damage and that this information had came from Samsung itself, also that i need to pay the fee for my phone or it will get sold to cover the cost. I also got sent an email that the quote has been rejected because I haven't rep**** to the messages that BRADIAN LOGISTICS sent to me. I haven't received any messages, or emails from anyone. . Percival had forwarded me the email for a repair quote from Bradian Logistics and not Samsung, and i was told Samsung said the phone has physical damage. When i called Samsung for clarity I was told that the only way one can establish physical damage is if you can physically see the LCD is cracked or broken without opening up the phone. It is very aggravating that TELKOM can tell me I have physical damage when Samsung says another. I want to dispute this matter and would like to get my phone back and get a second opinion before paying assessment fees. i think it is unfair to pay for a contract for the next 20 months without a phone.
