PATHETIC TELKOM!

Telkom is PATHETIC!!! My contract had come to an end back in November 2018. I have been on prepaid since then. However, they keep debiting my account on a monthly basis for data which I have never received. Note that I have never received statements or invoices from inception! I have phoned the call centre numerous times but all they do is keep escalating the case instead of resolving it. Eventually, I went to the Telkom Store at the Hillcrest Corner. I explained the situation and requested the consultant to cancel the contract so that the monthly debits would seize. Instead, the consultant cancelled the contract and made the number inactive with existing data which I had purchased with personal funds. As a result, 38GB of data was forfeited and I was unable to utilise the Telkom number. The consultant never mentioned that if the contract is cancelled, existing data will be forfeited! I was unaware of this until the cancellation. I then purchased a new sim card from the Telkom store at Westwood mall. Recharged data with personal funds. I desperately required data as we were working from home due to the covid pandemic. The next month ( December 2020) Telkom billed me again for the old contract ( already cancelled) and data for which I have already paid for on the new, prepaid sim card. They attempted to debit my account for these unnecessary costs. I went to the Hillcrest store again to resolve this matter but was unsuccessful. I have requested for invoices and statements several times but haven't received any to date! This matter has become extremely frustrating for me as Telkom keeps debiting my account and I have to keep going to the branch or phone the call centre for assistance. Telkom has no right to debit my account without notifying me! It is ********* AND UNACCEPTABLE! Further to this, I am not liable for Telkom employing *********** staff at the Hillcrest Corner and exorbitant costs for services that I have not received! I am still waiting for this matter to be resolved!
