Pathetic Telkom
My business landline went dead on 7/3/18, I duly reported it and got a reference number. On this service Telkom turn-around-time (SLA) is 24 hours. On 12/3/18, I went through their frustrating call center process to get feedback, since nothing was done. First they tell me it was resolved and closed, then they will log a new problem and then on my persistence they will reopen the original problem log ********** 02 for tel number (011) ********** . They (Samantha Naidoo) also promised to relay my broken landline to my cell, to attend to the problem Urgently and to provide feedback on my cell. After not receiving any of the above, I went through their worthless call center process once again, just to be told that they are not going to fix the landline cables (after approximately 30 years in place & maintained to a reasonable standard) and that somebody will call me some day and will offer me some alternatives. Unnecessary to say that I have lost it and demanded to talk to someone with more insight / authority than a call center agent. They only offered to transfer me to the supervisor, unnecessary to say she had the same script and according to them that is the final result and they are the final point of communication. I just ended the call. Adverti*****ts to the tune of R3000 a month and social media payments to the more or less the same tune contains this number as a point of contact, but Telkom feels nothing, only communicates through scripted call centers (cater for 20/30 minutes on frustrating calls every time) and never provides any feedback.
Hello nmyburgh8
Unfortunately a decision has been made not to replace the infrastructure but to replace it with the fixed line look alike service.
It is possible to migrate to the wireless service and keep your existing telephone number.
