Pathetic service from Telkom

About 2 weeks ago I app**** for the September Big Deal from Telkom on their website. It was a deal including a wifi router and 11GB of data for R139. I filled out the forms and shortly thereafter I was contacted by an agent who i went through all the required information with again (the same information which was completed on the online form) He did the credit check while I was on the line as well as took my banking details. He completed the entire application process with me telephonically including taking down my banking details and setting up the debit order for the end of October. He said to me that the device would be delivered in a few days to a week. Two weeks pass with nothing further and i call the new product line to query the delivery, only to be told by the agent that the new contract was "declined due to a low credit score" I find this VERY hard to believe and furthermore I am a current Telkom customer with 2 contracts exceeding R850 a month, as well as other up-to-date accounts with other service providers. I earn a decent salary and am definitely not in any debt. I find this entire process quite embarrassing and demeaning as a customer and all this over a small contract of a 100 bucks. Quite pathetic customer service, as when it comes time to sign you up they are so eager and helpful but when they declined my application they could not even afford me an SMS to let me know of such.. Very dissapointed with the (lack of) service received and will definitely be taking my business elsewhere.
