Pathetic service (debit orders)

I have been struggling to pay my Telkom account more than once. I called customer care to change my debit order date to the 1st of each month as the salary payment dates at my company changed to the last working day. The operator assured me it will be fine. At the end of May the debit order went through on the day before my pay date, thus being returned due to insufficient funds. I called again and was informed that the debit order cannot go through on the 1st, but either from 30, 31 and 1st of a month or 3-5 of a month. Nice that no mention was made of this during my initial call. They told me that the debit order date was now changed to 3-5 every month but could not tell me who is paying the failed debit order fine at my bank.

Today I received a threatening call from Telkom saying that they will be suspending my account due to non-payment. After checking I realized that the debit order never went through. Phoned them again and this time they told me that it takes 30 days for the debit order change to take effect. By the way, more than 30 days past after the June call. This time I told them that I also recorded the conversation as I hate the fact that no-one at that call centre have a clue what is going on. Now I have to take time off work to make a payment, as the EFT on ABSA's app is not working and apparently the fault is with Telkom, but I am not wasting any more energy trying to get this fixed as they will probably be clueless again, so now I have to leave early to go to a shop where I can pay or else the threat will become reality.

Logical question. Does Telkom really want my money? Can thesd people be trained? I have asked for a supervisor to call me twice now but no response. I have no more respect for Telkom. The problem is that it will probably be just as difficult to cancel my account as paying it.

I hope whoever read this will realize that service delivery is what keeps a company afloat. Not that you will care. You are quick to threaten your customers but *********** when it comes to putting your customers first.

Regards

A very ****ed-off customer.

Nice of someone to acknowledge receipt of my complaint. But my point is proven by the fact that there has been silence thereafter. But I must give them money on time? Well done Telkom!
