Pathetic Service and Processes

I app**** online for the R599 adsl 4mb uncapped line on the 3rd of June, throughout the week I tried calling them but they couldn't pick up my application, Friday 9 June someone calls me and confirms order and says someone will call me for installation, today 14th I call in because I can't track my order on the app it says there is no order, Letisha an agent tells me "o the previous agent didn't process my application " she asked for my details again - she spoke of an address I lived at 10 years ago, I said no I gave that agent my address, so I give my address again waiting on the line call was around 40 minutes, she then tells me I must pay R700 collateral as I am a new customer and my ITC score is low, I said I'm not a new customer I have 3 contracts with telkom and my empirical score isn't low, I asked if the R700 would be used as an installment she says no it will just lay there until I close the account, so I took out a 24month contract and that money is just going to lay there? I have 3 contracts with telkom one of which is a Samsung S8+ with a retail value of R14000 and I didn't pay collateral for that but for an adsl I must? She goes to her team leader puts me on hold for 7mins and comes back, says it's not about your score or that you have other products it's a new adsl line, are you joking? She contradicted everything she just told me about why the R700, Naroshni her team leader was too busy to take my call, if that R700 was being credited to my telkom account as a first payment then I would understand but it's not, the consultant who I spoke to on the 9th said everything is done there was no R700, I'm not paying that my order was placed on the 9th go and listen to the call, don't come and add on after the fact that I already took up. This is pathetic and so time consuming 40mins of my life taken that I can't get back which is way more than R700 you asking for. I concluded my contract you can't add on after.

Hi Bronwyn

My contract was concluded on the 9th go and listen to the call I accepted all terms and conditions of the 24month contract - it is therefore binding, just because that agent forgot to process my application that is not my problem we have a binding agreement that mentions nothing of a R700, you haven't addressed the concern you basically confirming what I told you so I suggest you go and listen to the calls, I am not going to pay R700 if this was discussed in my original agreement that I accepted then I would understand but it wasn't it took me to call back and an "Oops" from your side, it doesn't work that way i accepted on the 9th it is not my fault that agent didn't complete her process but I confirmed the compliance things with her and all, You cannot hold me liable for what an agent did. The beauty of it all is that no one contacted me i had to call in and waste my time because someone didn't do their job. My original agreement which I accepted on the 9th forms the binding contract.

Please go and read up on legislation, it's not my fault she made a mistake but she represented your company.

What customer service should have done before replying and repeating the event I said was go and listen to the call. I got a reference number and all. I want that R700 waived as it was not part of my original agreement, lesson to be learnt train your agents but once I agreed after giving all my information including my banking details and date of debit the contract was completed and cannot be edited because you made an "Oops" - so basically I am paying because your staff is poorly trained?
