Pathetic Service!
Telkom has the worst service. I have logged a fault on Sunday, 20 June, was supposed to get a reference number, that didn't happen. This was logged as High Importance or so I thought since we have students and essential workers that need to be able to use the internet and the phone. I went back to the store on Monday to get the number, as I wanted to track the progress. I was informed on Sunday that it will take 24hr - 48hr. I went back on Tuesday, 23 June, they couldn't assist me as they don't have technicians available to call directly. I also saw on the computer that this was actually logged as LOW importance. I was given a number to call - this number is of no use to me, you get an answering machine and are told to log this on the website. The logging was done in the store on Sunday. I kept tracking the fault on the Telkom website, it stayed on "logged", never moved to "in progress" or "job done" or "resolved". NOTHING has been done to fix this. This morning, I received an SMS stating the Fault Reference has been closed. I go on to Telkom Online, It is resolved according to them, but NOTHING has been resolved, no technician has been to check on this. You cannot call TELKOM as there is no landline or phone number. how absolutely ridiculous is that? Telkom is the worst!!! I have to go and stand in line again, only to hear that NOTHING has been done and they don't have answers. Why does a TELKOM store even exist?
The call was logged again as it was closed as "RESOLVED" - for a cable drop, nothing to do with my fault logged. NOTHING has been resolved. She informed me that they are unable to do anything but escalate, they have nothing to do with the technical side. She is also unable to provide me with any contact details as I need to follow their protocol. I will be attended to when it is attended to. I now have a new reference number and the process is starting again.
When I was in the shop yesterday and asked to speak to the Manager, some guy, very helpful came to assist. CLEARLY NOT the Manager as the store manager is female. the audacity. I cannot believe that a Telkom Store exists as they can't do anything but log on to a website, that I can do from home, but with NO assistance.
This is ridiculous, to say the least. It is very sad that South Africans do not get any service - we pay for it. Every single person in line at Telkom is there to complain, follow up on faults, or to cancel since the service is non-existent.
BAD BAD BAD!!!
