Pathetic Service
<p>I recently relocated to Cape Town and coincidentally changed my bank account so I visited the new Telkom store at Canal Walk mall to update my banking details and residential address. I had taken time out my working day at the end of July/ beginning August to have this done, waited in a queue then stood in front of the guy who presumably assisted me to get the update done for approximately 15 minutes. I left the store after being told that the update was done and my next debit order will go off the updated bank account. On 31st August, my old Bank account was debited in error by Telkom, needless to say, causing unpaid fees on this account and creating a bad credit record. I called the call centre on 1 September 2016 and got through to Thembisile who confirmed which bank account was debited and insisted that no update was done. Surely I'm not imagining having gone to the store and doing the update? I had given her all the information required for her to check that the update was done and she kept saying that she can't see anything done. So I requested to speak to a manager, she placed the call on hold and after a while came back to ask me more questions instead of transferring me to a manager. I refused to be placed on hold again and asked her to get her Team Leader to speak to me. I was then transferred to the just as useless Nkosi Msomi. He attempted to update my banking details and as he continued to do this, he picked up my new bank account details and called it out to me saying that he has record of it but the update was not done therefore the debit still ran off the old bank account. So I decided to ask him about my residential address and he had no record of this. So what on earth did the person at the Canal Walk store do with my informatio ? Nkosi then advised that I have to make an eft payment as he is unable to submit another debit on the correct bank account, I agreed to do this and send him the proof of payment. I asked him to call me when he receives my email as I need this to be resolved as soon as possible. He promised to call me and advised that he was logging my address to be updated by back office for some reason. To date, I did not receive a call from this apparent Team Leader. I had to email him again on 2 September 2016 to ask him why he hasn't called me or responded to my email. I then received a response saying, 'Hi, you made payment and it normal takes the bank 48hrs'. If he can barely speak/type in English, how is he a Team Leader? I responded to him asking what does this mean? Has he received the payment or not? Is the payment allocated or not? Yet again...I have not received a response from Nkosi Msomi **********
