Pathetic Service

My fiance and I moved into our new apartment in March. Both of us run businesses. We payed a R700 deposit for our ADSL line. When I called to activate the line, I was told that R500 and something rand would be debited from my *** was debited from my account in April. I tried to contact telkom but to no avail. I then requested a call back and to date, no call back. Yesterday afternoon, our line was suspended. We contacted Telkom and spoke to Eric (manager) who advised that the line was suspended and they would reactivate it and get the billing department to call us back. This morning, the internet has been down again. We contacted Telkom who advised that the line was not suspended. We spoke to Cecilia. We then spoke to Cecilia's manager Pam as Cecilia couldn't get the line working. Pam confirmed that the line was not suspended and that she would get a technician to call us. 1 Hour later, no technician and when we called back, we were advised that the line IS suspended and we need to pay R1685 to have to reactivated. To date, we have NEVER received an invoice/statement we've only just been disconnected. We were told on the phone by Pam that there is a credit limit of R220. This was ALSO NOT communicated to us previously. We are losing money due to Telkom's incompetency to 1. communicate and 2. send invoices/statements. I've spoken to my attorney who has advised that we are able to take this matter to the consumer tribunal as unfair business practices as well as failure to deliver service. Should Telkom not reactivate this line by the end of today, we will be filling a suit against Telkom and taking it to the media.
