PATHETIC PATHETIC PATHETIC TELKOM CUSTOMER SERVICE

Firstly Telkom definitely doesn't even deserve the one star that I did give them - I had to pick something before this site would allow me to type the review. I have been with Telkom as a contract customer (with 2 numbers) for just over 2 years. To cut a very long story short. I took a new phone with Telkom since 2 years were up and I was due another phone. Since then Telkom has successfully managed to mess everything up.

Firstly they were trying to deliver a phone to me almost a month after it was suppose to be delivered (no stock). I was told that I can go instore and take a phone (which I did) - told them to cancel the sales department sale which they said was done. It was NOT! From this point on complete confusion has reigned supreme. After me spending 2 hours on the phone trying to explain that I already have a phone and the courier is still trying to drop off one (not my fault) I find that my other number (which my wife uses stopped working) - no signal nothing. This was on the 29th March 2019. After my 3 hours (in total) on the phone I was assured that the error would be rectified - however it would take up to 5 working days to be actioned. I was told if I went into a Telkom store it could be done immediately. I went into a store the next day and sadly - no success. I have since made 3 store visits in all. Multiple calls to the 081 180 number have only proven to be utterly and completely frustrating. I have been blamed for being the one at fault?? Been told that I requested a cancellation? - would love to see/hear proof of that??

I once asked to speak to a superior and was denied that great privilege. Another time I was assured by a girl named Mamohau Maphakso that her superior was busy and would definitely call me back - I'm still waiting for that call.

On another occasion (11 April) I spoke to a Nqobile Maphumulo who tried to unsuccessfully put me through to a superior as they had already "knocked off" - no wonder I'm getting no help/response. Nqobile asked me to mail her so she can follow it up for me. I have mailed her 3 times between the 12th April to the 17th April without receiving a single reply. So I abandoned that fruitless pursuit.

Just this morning, at the risk of my sanity - I called again. After taking a long while to read the case history I was now told something new. I was a monthly contract (debit order) client but because the number has been cancelled I have to move to prepaid and go buy data etc. I was asked to please tell me when in this whole situation have I asked to cancel the number and no explanation is forthcoming. I was left with, even though you didn't ask for it to be cancelled, it is now cancelled and unfortunately we can't do anything about it?!?!?!?!?!?

It is now 26 days since my first call to rectify TELKOM'S MISTAKE and my wife's number is still inactive. I cannot begin to explain the levels of frustration, disappointment and disgust that we've experienced. Clearly none of those awesome Telkom staff members would stay 26 days with a dead phone??

It must be noted that with my 3 instore visits (Chatworth) - the guys did try very hard to help but always responded with "we can't action the activation as we are blocked off from doing so on the system." With each visit they updated the query trail and even emailed the actual person that erroneously carried out the cancellation - made no difference.

I dare Telkom to prove anything other than, they by far have the most pathetic systems and customer service amongst all the major cellular service providers. As I type this mail, I have to date received no contact/correspondence from Telkom in any way. 26 days of a wrongfully cancelled number and counting!!!
