Pathetic Customer Service -Knysna Branch

Let me begin.

Last week Monday I approached Telkom in hopes of a new contract for the Macbook Pro.

At first, it was looking good, they assessed the contract and told me that the Macbook should take at most a week to arrive.

I made it clear that time was of the essence and that I do not want to be in the situation wherein a week I am to find out that it has been declined as my time is valuable if they contract were to be declined, I would still need time to search for an alternative.

As I'm on a strict working schedule, the following day I received a phone call telling me that the contract has been accepted and the Macbook Pro is to be arriving in the time schedule.

5 Days later I received a phone call to tell me that there is no longer any Macbook Pro's available in the country, I was alarmed, I asked what are my alternatives and their first response was that I should consult other companies and get a deal there. (What kind of business refers paying customers away from their business.). They had told me that I can get a contract on the Macbook air for the exact same price and that they have it in stock.

With that, I said no I will be in on Monday to discuss my alternatives, So Monday came and I went into the Knysna branch, accepted the contract for the Macbook Air, to find out that there was, in fact, no MacBook Air in stock and it was promised to arrive on Wednesday.

Today (That Wednesday) I went in to discuss where the laptop is and if it as arrived, as there is no telephonic number I can call to speak to anyone... when I did call the number suggested on google, I was redirected to the head branch in Cape Town and told that my only option to communicate with the branch is to walk in ( A telecommunications branch without a mobile number or landline!?!?!)

I was incredibly poorly treated when I approached the consultant As if vanity in the workplace isn't enough, I am 20 years old and was treated as if I am a child, PATHETIC. Being spoken to as if I am stupid to not wait for their phone call when in the first place I was told to come in on Wednesday.

Needless to say, the laptop had not arrived, nor did they give me any indication of when it would be, other than a "maybe tomorrow". Now it is a week and a half since I first approached Telkom and I am still without any indication of when I will receive the Macbook Air I have taken a contract for.

I am absolutely disgusted at the pathetic service I have received during this ordeal. I had understood that this process is to be pleasant and enjoyable, and I am not even happy in the slightest, not even a tiny bit.

Kaine Bell-Cross

Knysna Branch
