Pathetic ADSL line speed and "dead" land line

I first logged a call on 30th November 2016 for an ADSL line which was almost non-existent. I should have a 12MB/s line, but most of the time it is less than 0.5 (sometimes as low as 0.2 MB/s. Mweb is my service provider, so I logged the fault with them as well as with TELKOM.

ADSL faulty Mweb Reference ********** / Telkom reference 18BNK211116.

Mweb is extremely helpful, but at the end the problem still persists with TELKOM. I have spoken to them directly on more that one occasion about this ongoing problem, but nothing happens. Not even my land line is active (this has been on and off in the past, but lately completely "dead".

My apologies - I should have a 8MB/s ADSL line (Not 12MB/s).

Hi, on Sunday 15th January 2017, the dreaded contacts on the underground cable were apparently replaced and and I now have a respectfully 6.8MB/s ADSL line at times (8MB/s line) - my land line is actually also working, bearing in mind that is somewhat noisy. Strangely, my Internet provider could find out that there was an underground cable problem, but that no time frame could be given for fixing because Telkom had a staff shortage. I could even live with this, given the festive season. Problem: NOBODY from Telkom contacted me or even tried to apologize for the delay and discomfort (which I pay for). I was, however contacted this morning to arrange for a technician to come and sort out my problem "tomorrow". Where is communication going to? In two months, I was not contacted once only with no permanent success, after the initial logging (the land line was operative for mere day(s) at a time. I complained via the channels (Telkom and my service provider, who was very understanding). I got various reference numbers (some of which nobody could refer to later - I think the one via SMS). I suggest Telkom re-imburse me for my slow ADSL line and mostly dead landline for at least two months. Tx
